To get the adrenaline going on June 12th I will be doing the Big Zip across the River Trent at a height of 30 metres. This is in aid of Marie Curie Nurses who provide free nursing care to cancer patients and those with other terminal illnesses in their own homes. A great cause, and one that is close to me having lost my father to cancer at a young age.

If you would like to sponsor me for this charity event, please visit http://www.justgiving.com/Stuartross9. It is simple, fast and totally secure. SBC Property Services are pleased to announce that Nottinghamshires Buy With Confidence scheme, run by their Trading Standards Dept, have accepted SBC onto the scheme. SBC had to demonstrate their adminstration procedures and record keeping, have all our staff and our Gas Safe contractor vetted by CRB, and 10 randomly selected customers from our database gave us a high rating for the quality of work, cost and cleanliness.
We’re looking forward to having lots of new customers throughout Nottinghamshire and to continuing to uphold our 7 point guarantee.

SBC Property Services meet local Parliamentary Candidate

SBC Property Services received stirring commendations on their high safety and quality standards from Mid-Derbyshire Parliamentary Candidate, Pauline Latham, on her recent visit to their West Hallam premises.

The meeting, held on 18th February, was part of Pauline Latham’s ‘Latham Listens’ initiative, which sees Mrs. Latham selecting and visiting key businesses throughout her potential Mid-Derbyshire constituency, to gain a greater understanding of the issues facing local businesses.

SBC Property Services, owned and managed by Sheila and Steve Balaam of Draycott, Derbyshire, provides plumbing, plastering, tiling, kitchen and bathroom installation, bricklaying and roofing work to private and commercial clients. The company gears its service offering towards providing ‘the safe family home environment’, with all staff members and subcontractors being Criminal Records Bureau checked. SBC is also Safe Contractor Certified, meaning that it has been independently tested and assessed to ensure compliance with the latest health and safety measures.

Following their hour-long meeting, which saw the debating of subjects spanning business support, safety and debt recovery, Mrs. Latham commented on what she saw to be SBC’s key value offerings: “The fact that you’ve got a 7 point guarantee…you don’t normally get that and that makes you the cut above. Having dealt with all of these trades personally at home over the years, they are not generally reliable and they don’t always do what they say they’re going to do…if you can guarantee that workmanship and quality, you’re going to appeal to the people that want a proper and not a cut price job”.

On the conclusions deduced from the meeting, SBC Director, Sheila Balaam commented: “I am glad that Mrs Latham recognised our stringent quality and safety measures. In addition, we necessitate that all staff, no matter how experienced, qualify to NVQ level as an assurance of quality to our customers”.

Asked to provide a closing comment on her experience with SBC, Mrs. Latham remarked: “Well it seems to me from what I’ve gathered today that you are a good company that cares about what you are doing, that you want to do a good job and that you’re working very hard at achieving this”. Armed with information from such meetings, should Mrs Latham be voted into Westminster this May, she will be able to vote on legislation that affects the success of companies just like SBC in Mid Derbyshire.

What You Don’t Need To Succeed…

I’m always talking about the attributes of successful people:

* They set goals.
* They are ACTION-oriented.
* They are willing to work harder than their competition.
* They are eager to learn.
* They are persistent.

Today, for a change, let’s talk about what you don’t need to succeed.

* You don’t have to be smart.
* You don’t have to be good-looking.
* You don’t have to be thin.
* You don’t have to be nice.
* You don’t have to be right — all the time.
* You don’t have to be even-tempered.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t be kind, sympathetic, and patient. You should try to be all of those things, because those qualities will make you a better and happier person.

But in remaking your personality into that of an automatic wealth builder, focus on enthusiasm, diligence, and determination. Set goals. And take ACTION.
